An important reason for the kids to stay off the gear in their yards, is to keep them from being exposed to all the chemicals used to treat the lawns! And fields at schools. Those little warning flags about chemical treatments are everywhere in suburbia.

That sounds like a perfectly logical explanation to me.

Or, parents could actually use their brains and realize that having kids means that their days of surrounding thier houses with a ring of toxic chemicals to impress their neighbors are over.
