The Fray Human Nature Growing meat without growing animals
by BalPatil

As a Jain activist for Jain religion minority right under the Indian constitution in India I think this is a welcome innovation because it would be a solution to the untold, inhuman cruelty to the animals slaughtered for meat.

Jainis, an ancient religion in India pioneered the message of ahimsa-non-violence- in human history.

Dr. Schweitzer speaks in glowing terms of the principle of Ahimsa non-violence as laid down by Jainism: “The laying down of the commandment not to kill and not to damage is one of the greatest events in the spiritual history of mankind. Starting from its principle, founded on world and life denial of abstention from action, ancient Indian thoughts and this is a period when in other respects ethics have not progressed very far reaches the tremendous discovery that ethics know no bounds. So far as we know this is for the first time clearly expressed by Jainism.”

Besides this would also be a solution to the artificial fattening of the animals for meat with scarce fodder in a world which is confronted now with global food scarcity and ensuing riots.
