Time to call it the Obama Deathwatch?

Or maybe practice responsible journalism. Now THAT would be a switch!

"Don't panic!" - Douglas Adams

A week from today the race for pledged delegates will be over. The superdelegates are not going to let Rev. Wright decide for them who the Democratic nominee should be. They have enough sense to respect the will of the people.

Obama 08!

If you are correct, you will be regrettably correct.

If Obama is the Democratic entry, then McCain will win. It is as simple as that. And the Wright factor will indeed play into it, among other recent major gaffes on the part of the neophyte candidate from Illinois.

For some reason, people think I am a 'hater' when I say these things, when I am not 'hating' at all.

Obama appeals to young people, for sure, and to people who don't do things for a living. He talks a good game, but he doesn't appeal to people who do rather than talk. In the end, if he gets past this round, that will be his undoing.

McCain has walked the walk. Obama has talked a wonderful talk, but he has done nothing, and the Republican Party is going to rain on that parade.

If you haven't heard it before, you've heard it here first.

Soccerfreak, you are mistaken, come back in Novermber so I can say I told you so.

Soccerfreak, there are powerful reasons to expect that McCain won't be the next President. An unprecedented majority of Americans believe this country is "on the wrong track" and John McCain is openly promising to keep us on that track.

That overwhelming majority has already made itself heard at the polls and isn't done yet.

In 2006, Democrats beat all reasonable expectations and took control of both houses of Congress. George Bush, may God bless his empty little head, was visibly stunned.

In 2008, a tidal wave of voters have swarmed to Democratic primaries, in a hard-fought contest between two strong candidates. In some States the second-place Democratic candidate drew more votes than all of the Republican candidates combined, even when there was still a Republican contest.

If Obama is indeed the nominee, it will be because he beat the Clinton machine -- a powerful political force that certainly has not been pulling its punches in the primaries. Taking on McCain -- about whom many Republicans are lukewarm -- is not some mystical order of magnitude more difficult than taking on the Clintons.

To simply say, without any support whatsoever, that "if Obama is the Democratic entry, then McCain will win. It is as simple as that" gives very much the appearance of blowing hot air.

Kudos to a rarefied commenter here on the fray. Good for you Soccerfreak.

Please do come back in November, we will see then.

There is still more to come for Obama. Wright is nothing. I actually think that if you get past the bombast of his preaching style, you will find some very worthy topics to discuss.

Now Obama, the Uniter, has thrown that under the bus... good-bye Obama!

He just bit the hand that fed him. Obama is the gift that keeps on giving. If he really cared about black people, he would have taken up their causes and elevated the Reverend Wright to a level of understanding.

Grandma= typical white person

Wright= not the person I met 20 yrs ago

Who is next? Michelle?

Time to call it the McCain Deathwatch?

Unfortunately for John McCain, he will have to debate real issues with Barack Obama in the fall. As near as I can tell, you can't slip a piece of paper into the gap between McCain's positions and those of George W. Bush. Bush's approval rating is in the high 20s. McCain doesn't have a chance.

Obama 08!

YES: Obama Deathwatch...I made the

suggestion the other day on "FrayWatch" but so far, no reply. and yes, regarding 'responsible journalism," it IS about time the MSmedia woke up & started taking a more serious look at the negatives on Obama's side, not just on Senator Clinton's. "imho, of course."
Obama Deathwatch - yes.

"Who is next? Michelle?" Very funny!

btw, I saw that you posted recently to "Schmutzie" on Laurie Ann's very long-lived Top Post on the BOTF and wondered where he was coming from in his comments? FYI: He's a snarky Obama-naut/nut of the smarmiest type and most of those posts of his that are so puzzling to Frayreaders who don't know him, are intended as satire. They often fall flat. (imho, of course) p.s. he hates me, fyi. :-)

Best, "L." aka "Typical White Person"

Obama Deathwatch ... possibly.

Your post is a classic example of far lefty Liberal Wishful Thinking. It's most likely over for your guy -- and that is better for us, the American populace. Eight years from now? Maybe. Four years from now? hope not, unless he shows more willingness to learn from his (clear) mistakes & increases his ability to show better judgment.

Hillary in 08 -- READY FROM DAY ONE.

Oh they've heard it before, SF --

they are just living in denial-land, totally so. Their blinders are on, the Obamanite Kool-Aid has been fully ingested and they will not accept the rational possibility that the well-experienced & highly ready & competent Mrs. Clinton is going to be the Democratic Party's Presidential nominee this year.

p.s. my pet name for BO is "The Inexperienced Neophyte," I love the way it rolls off the tongue -- or screen.
