My concern is not the government using technology, but that elected leadership uses law enforcement to investigate manufactured allegations regarding issues which would illuminate their shortcommings. Mrs. Kathryn Coluzzi was widowed when her husband Captain Joseph Coluzzi made a routine voyage to Guam on a non conscripted pre position cargo ship, the MV Lopez from his home port of Saipan.

Captain Coluzzi's was reported missing to his widow who described to authorities how her spouse was assaulted before he sailed to Guam to report problems on the ship and how too, his family had sent information about their considerable financial estate via fax to his ship during his parents illness. Ms. Coluzzi is from a wealthy family who previously served the USA as Diplomats. The couple were very much in love and were married on the vessel in a ceremony officiated by Captain Harold Boltin. Kathryn awakened one morning to learn by fax her husband was a missing person and that she was being referred to as his girlfriend. It seems that some Senators do not disclose their stock options in Defense Industries but maintain an Oversight Position which lends to the speculation their oversight is of their personal financial nature and not the interest of the men who serve their country. At that time the company was hiring a few people through Manpower, an anchor was snapped on the ship and there were issues which Captain Coluzzi believed meritorious of drug testing.None of the AMSEA Board replied to Mrs Coluzzi other than in derrogatory terms referring to her as a little brown gold digging monkey, as a delusional girlfriend and later as a menace to society. Mrs. Coluzzi was threatened when she attempted to obtain answers until finally with the assistance of Senator John McCain's staff, Senator Hilary Clinton and Senator Jim Webb as well as the First Family and Vice President Cheney her situation was brought forward for investigation of inappropriate e-mails bearing the signature of elected officials for which she requested confirmation from law enforcement and committee chairman. She also requested that law enforcement and elected officials listen to her telephone requests of key people involved in the horrible tragedy of her husband's death. Mrs. Coluzzi was never a threat to national security by challenging and recommending changes to the Jones Act, she was never a threat to anything other than the public image of some unsavory people. Fortunately she had an excellent network of contacts in media, law enforcment and friends who could defend her interests and integrity, but it was not without a smear campaign in the state of West Virginia. Mrs. Coluzzi is hoping to soon achieve a resolution which will resore her husband's honor and provide her with the home in Nyack that her husbands' family wanted to provide the couple or the health insurance her husband provided for her. My point is that it is not the "government" abuse of power but misuse of investigative resources by corrupt individuals in elected office.So who do you blame An ambiguous "Big Brother"? No, blame the constituents who do not really know all there is to know about the men and women they elected to public office, blame yourself. Mrs. Coluzzi worked for 10 years to identify individuals obstructing her efforts, not to overthrow the country, but to elevate democracy and decency to the standard which would justify her husband's sacrifice to his country. The widow endured tremendous harassment in West Virgina and from her ordeal which involved sadistic remarks she was able to prevail. Anyone who is feeling persecuted by government would be well to consider her situation, it is not the governement it is usually a person you voted for and often that person has more persona than substance. Mrs. Coluzzi has lost her political innocence but her faith remains in individuals, she survived. Let's hope the rotten eggs voted to Congress by states with limited options to ask hard questions of their politicians will soon be replaced by another generation which demands financial disclosure and holds their officials accountable for requesting money for responding to duties invested in their role as national committee members.

It really isn't a facist system or a conspiracy when electronic monitoring protects children from pedophiles or when the government traces irregular transactions from hostile countries. Your bank does the same thing if you make unusual credit card charges in amounts which are of the ordinary for your spending habits.If you don't like what's happening speak up. Isn't that what the country is all about, free speech and access to elected officials?
