Middle class?

I guess that depends on your definition of "middle class."

Dude made $243,223... putting him firmly in the top 2.5-3% of income earners in the US.

Sure, he's not filthy rich, but he makes something like five times the national median income.

The definition of "middle class" has come to mean anyone above the poverty line but making less than 7 figures.

I had an ex-boyfriend in high school and college who firmly believed he'd grown up "middle class," while attending a private school, traveling internationally at least once a year, and vacationing at his parents' THREE vacation homes. When I asked him what my family was, he said we were obviously "middle class" too, despite the fact that our household income was probably a third of his.

The upper-middle/lower-upper classes have a completely warped of what "middle class" actually is.

Or maybe, just maybe, "middle class" these days refers to something that includes income and wealth levels but doesn't stop there. I kinda like the concept of a middle-class ethos being instilled in children, regardless of how much money their parents make. I've spent a lot of time in very wealthy areas, where most dads would earn salaries in low-to-mid 7 figures, but their kids still had after-school and summer jobs. Having to earn things instead of merely getting whatever you want has to count for something... And now I've gone completely off topic. Apologies.
