You cult guys always forget about MI and FLA, too, especially FLA. When those votes (from people we should care about--trust me on this!) are counted, Hillary may well win the popular vote by the end of the contests. BUT, most of all, if it weren't for the sophistic proportional system of voting, Hillary has won more hypothetical electoral votes--you know, in the winner take all system in which adults vote in November?

In summary: yes, she's alive, and if McCain somehow becomes president, it won't be Hillary's fault, but the Obama cult's, for not just rising above the fray and letting the clock run out by talking policy and, er, 'hope'.

What HRC did in PA was to hold serve, barely. Why you are acting like it's a triumph or something is beyond me. Two months ago she was polling ahead of him by nearly thirty points. Plus, as you failed to list among your talking points, race, which had been less of a factor before, suddenly was -- and why?

Because she made it one. The her hypocritical bastard of a husband carried on about how he had been unfairly accused of dong what he'd just done, and he could prove it...except he didn't. This last month sure brought out the essential character of the Clintons. We were supposed to distrust Obama because: he has been friendly with a notorious one-time sixties radical, his minister said a couple of wacky things in thirty-plus years of sermons (and kudos to the Clinton staffer who sorted through all those sermons to find that campaign gold), and out of a couple thousand words in a long, thoughtful remark, two were "bitter" and "cling."

So suddenly Hillary, child of the suburbs, Wellesly and Yale graduate, NAFTA flip-flopper, big shot corporate lawyer and board member of Wal-Mart, is the friend of the unions and the working man. How did this happen? Easy. Of the two candidates in the primary, which one has white skin? And more importantly, dumb white working-class Americans (my people, by the way) may not have much going for them, but they know how to stay loyal to the Party and to the candidates their party bosses have chosen for them. Hillary nailed down PA six months ago. Her performance in Pennsylvania was for the superdelegates: she wants them to go over the heads of the voters and appoint her to the candidacy. Then Obama damn near spoiled her party by coming scarily close to beating her, which brought out even more of that classiness we have come to admire so.

And your silly counterfactual about how Hillary would have won it all if the primaries had been winner-take-all and Florida and Michigan had counted and and and... she ran an insider campaign, staffed with ninnies who will, if she becomes president, will then infest the West Wing with the same mid-level self-serving incompetence that characterized her husband's first term. The states where she's done best were the ones where the party orgs, who committed to her back before this face began, were able to give her maximum help.

Having failed to hold on to the part of the party coalition that reads, she took her campaign hard to the right and turned the campaign into a mudfest. Like Bill, she's hurt the party and will do it nothing but harm in the general election. It's time for the guys who made the monster to pull the plug. If they don't, the monster will eat them and we will have four years of a feeble minority president, like we have now.

I am confident that Senator Obama will win out in the end. But if Super Delegates steal this thing for the KKKlinton KKKamp, I am on record as saying that I will never support a ticket with her name on it. I will not vote for these racists, and the Super Delegates can take that to the bank.

I don't think you should categorize Hillary and Bill as racists. This is only a temporary position for them and they have to use the race card for the votes. And you can NOT be serious about the name-calling thing. That started with HRC and continued to the last minute. And of course, the "cult" accusation. I look at Obama's staff and see guys who used to work for Dick Gephart and other Democratic Party centrists; I look at his advisors and I see the same. And what about HOPE? Wasn't Bill Clinton the MAN from Hope? As far as I can see, the big difference between Obama and the Clintons is, he really means what he says and when people really listen to him they generally come away converts. What he's converting people to is pretty much the same package the Clintons have been selling for years, except for this significant difference: he really means it, and people can tell that.

The Clinton mystique was grounded in victory. So if they aren't winners, what are they? Win or lose, Obama is what he is, and the people who love him today will also love him tomorrow. Can you practitioners of the Clinton cult say the same?
