Frankenmeat

I'm not even going to read the article in total.

And I'll be the FIRST to admit that I've read my share of sci-fi - probably too much. But...

It's such a bad idea I dont even know WHERE to begin. But it'll probably happen because the goal in the future is to control the masses of people who will inhabit the Earth of the mid 21st century by controlling how they eat. With Monsanto and DuPont and other international conglomerates treating food, a necessity, not as a basic right - its a basic no brainer that you should feed hungry people and PROFIT shouldnt be the bottom line - is NOT what they are planning. They are planning to control your basic right to feed YOURSELF by controlling the very SEEDS we would need to feed ourselves. By causing the extinction of other domestic breed diversity by only allowing the market wide use of THEIR gene spliced livestock would make it almost impossible for you to raise your own food. One of your basic rights.

So when you read about these so called "advances" in food tech, and the de rigeuer attachment of the "humanitarian - feed the world - how can you question the inherent good",

But question it you should, after the decades lone "experiment" of using massives amounts of antibiotics, cannibalistic feed production practices that have wreaked havoc. We know these things, these "advances" were also touted as 'revolutionary" and "a breakthrough" have turned out to have seriously compromised our health. And these husbandry practices have caused viruses to jump species in ways unknown before. But still, because these companies wield so much powet over our lives we are apparently helpless to resist their needing to make money over how we seem to have NO control over our lives. And complacently we sit while they poison us thru our food, our water in the most evil and innocuous ways. Paint that lowers your child's IQ slathered on nearly toy and child based product on the market - can that kind of incompetance NOT BE DELIBERATE? Plastics that are dangerous enough to kill but have been used for decades, We ponder in large groups why are there so many more autistics and emotionally/neurologically damaged children it seems like today?

It feels sometims like the price for living in the greatest country that ever existed, is to watch the moneychangers own us - to our very souls.

And that's MY theory - crackpot as it is.

dont even read the article but write this reactionary diatribe on it? not that I disagree with what you are saying, but no one is going to take what you have to say seriously if you dont listen to their point of view in the first place.

You rant about not willing to read an article that you tear down does not make much sense. Neither does your complaining about THEY controlling our lives and THEY are out for the unholy dollar. Have you read about diverting corn to fill the gas tanks of those who still insist on owning those huge battle tanks to go to the local market with?. Also have you noticed the price of groceries lately? Corn happens to be a staple food item for humans and animals alike. You can't use corn products in human food, feed it to cattle and use it to make fuel without figuring out some way to get more yield from an acre of corn, because most corn growers are already working at their maximum now or coming up with a new way to produce meat without corn. Until human beings can come together and cut the world population back to a reasonable level the demand for food will keep increasing, along with land, water and many other things the world is fast running out of. And complaining that they are out for the unholy dollar, when was the last time you went to work and told your boss that you want no pay for your work this week?

People had better wake up and smell the coffee, our planet is grossly overpopulated, we have raped and plundered the earth like there was no tomorrow and we have fouled everything from our air, our water and much of our land. We had better come up with new ways to find more food because mankind has almost reached the saturation point and in many present day cultures and areas it is almost sacrireligious to even speak about birth control or abortions. If mankind does not solve our problems, nature will and those solutions are generally very cruel as the great plague demonstrated once.
