I do not have much hope that it will succeed, but it would be great if it did. The "surge" is just now near full strength and the democrats are declaring it a failure. They do not want it to succeed. If there is significant improvement in Iraq, their chance to win more power is diminished. Political power is far more important to them than the Iraqi people.

Don't you keep up on the news? The surge is a failure. Shouldn't six months be enough time to figure this out.

First of all, there was never a need for us to start a war in Iraq.

To do that, he would have asked you to support a major tax increase and possibly a military draft.

There has never been a real strategy for victory in Iraq, and there have never been the resources that would have been needed to achieve it.
