Robert Mugabe Must Go
by AFRICANMAN

Not quite long ago in Kenya, there was blood shed during the killing of innocent people including women and children. All was because election results were said to be stolen or manipulated and as such was a rigged election. Some few took things into their own hands and slaughtered their own brethren.

Whiles these atrocities were taking place no African leader had the "Cojones" to openly criticize the leaders who were involved. It took the former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan to mediate and lead these fools to accepting to form a shared-government.

Now in Zimbabwe temperatures are rising and tempers are flaring because when the people went to the polls three weeks ago they indicated loud and clear that it was time for Robert Mugabe to hand over power to someone else so the 84 year old man could retire peacefully.

Contrary to what the people of Zimbabwe have indicated through the balloting box and as expected by some , Mugabe has refused to concede defeat and is still clinging onto power. Till date, no election results have been released and anyone who has any gumption can tell that there is something fishy going on.

Once again African leaders have become mute and are not doing anything to stop blood shedding in Zimbabwe. It is very obvious where these leaders refuse to criticize one another when they mess up big time. Currently, Zimbabwe's economy is in shambles and the guy who has been in power for almost three decades still wants power because he is addicted to it.

There is an old Ghanaian adage that says that " When water is kept for too long in a sealed container, it stinks" Mr. Robert Mugabe, you have been stinking for some time now it is time to go peacefully and maintain whatever dignity that you have left.

Anyone who has followed Zimbabwean Politics will know not to forget who and what Mr. Robert Mugabe symbolizes to the People of Zimbabwe and to Africa as a whole.

Mr. Robert Mugabe came into power almost 30 years ago when a Mugabe was precisely what was needed. Now at the age of 84 and looking at the situation that Zimbabwe finds herself, it is time for him to acknowledge that he has done his "best" and it is time for someone else to carryon.

He can step down graciously and spare the spill of innocent blood if he decides to the contrary.

In my humble opinion Mr. Mugabe is doing more harm than good to an entire nation that is practically at the edge of collapse if that is not already occurred.

is here to send a petition to all African leaders through the UN to tell them to cease from being spectators during such times of political crisis.

They did it during the Kenyan elections fiasco and innocent blood was shed.

Stand up for something good for once, African Leaders!

Whenever a product expires, it serves the original purpose it was manufacture for no more. At 84 Mr. Mugabe has expired and has to understand that.

Please sign the petition so your voice can be heard if you believe Robert Mugabe must go!

good post, one thing, when you say civilians were killed, including women and children, you marginalize the males killed,[who were the vast majority of the dead}..why not, many men and boys were killed, also some females and children. sounds like its marginalizing the females and children? sorry, more men were killed.
