The Cynical Democrat Plan for the General
by Marcus61
-2 Reply

The notion that any thinking person more than one year out of college could believe that Obama will be competitive in the general has now moved from the ridiculous to the sublime: bitter-cling has no legs because it's old news, Obama is unelectable and the nabobs in the Democratic Party have long known it.

Winning the presidency is not their objective. Just what would they do with the presidency and control of both houses? Errr....precisely none of the promise-the-moon vision: the war will go on, because it must go on; the American health care system and broader domestic economy are already the least bad versions on offer that don't involve cohersion; and global warming millenarianism is the opiate of the left. Democrats are quite content to contemplate four-to-eight more years of dual-house legislative obstruction and juicy port barrel ear marks.

Hillary just hasn't been sent the memo: those nabobs figured she would already have her hands full fetching their coffee.

Speaking of cohersion, thank God(ess) the executive branch will be in McCain's hands: do you not shudder to think of the new intrusions and cohersions to which we would be subject if the unreconstructed leftists backing Obama/Dear Leader got their soft, never-done-an-honest-day's-work-in-their-life fingers on the expansive new powers the Bushies have carved-out for the presidency? Goodbye warrantless wire-tapping for national security; hello warrantless wire-tapping for politically incorrect speech.

To be electable all you need is votes. The voters have already spoken and Obama is indeed electable as he has won states by numbers that show he will take them in November, even though they are red states.

Take a look at the vote counts in Colorado and Virginia. He will beat McCain in those states that had previously gone for Bush.

He will also win the Blue states like New York and California. The silliness that some people have jumped on as indicating he isn't seen as a good candidate, like Wright or Ayers, are just so much wishful thinking by people who weren't going to vote for a democrat in any case.

You bring up pork and wiretaps, corruption and incompetence. These are the hallmarks of the current administration. If you want them to continue, vote for McCain. I guess since you see no alternative to the ballooning national debt, the economy in the shitter and health care on an increasingly unaffordable trajectory, I guess you won't really mind that.

To be elected and or electable all you need is votes...

Unfortunately you are correct and it's too bad. I have a dream. Base candidates on morals and eithical American standards.

For excample make sure that when a person run for president they must fill out an application with the FBI and CIA honestly.

I have heard from an employee of the FBI and he said that Obama wouldn't pass, and that Hillary would be guestionable because of their pasts.

I'm not a republican as I speak.

If your friend has reviewed their files he has probably broken the law.

Ask if he has looked into McCain. If we want to damn Obama for what he did years ago, I guess we would want to think twice about Cindy McCain (who stole drugs to feed her habit) or invested about $300k in real estate with Charles Keating, just before the whole Keating 5 thing.

Then, of course, there are John's flings...if you care much about that sort of thing. I don't, but the Christian right just might.

If you want to stick to current events then we could talk about the people running McCain's campaign. His top advisors are people who have represented companies with business before some of the committees that McCain sits on. Does that seem like a conflict of interest to you?

No he didn't dig into anybodies files he was just basing it on what has been said about their past and who they have defended and affiliated with.

Hey.. I forgot to ask about OLD Johnny McCain and his comments. At the time it was only directed at the democratic candidates.

But from what you have brought up it sounds like same McCain different party.

We are screwed no matter who's elected.

If you friend from the FBI is correct about what he has based his opinion on, then he knows no more than you or I do. I'm sure that he is entitled to an opininion, but mine is as good as his.

Cindy McCain's drug problem is pretty interesting, even though it was a long time ago, but how does someone get away with no jail time when stealing narcotics from a non-profit?

Since Rush didn't serve time for his little drug problem, I guess it doesn't mean much.

The fact that John is in bed with so many lobbyists, while claiming to be so pure because he hasn't gotten any earmarks is actually pretty funny.

Yah The celebrities get away breaking the law and not paying back taxes it's pathetic! The IRS just says their totally swamped. The sick thing is we're talking millions and millions of dallars. If same McCain has so many lobbyists and is humping their legs its going to be a very intresting general election. The democrats will pick him apart if it's Obama. I don't know about Hillary she may have lobbyist hidden in her closet also.??
