Philandering Philatelists and other musings

1. Are they in it for the stamps? Comparing a passion for stamp-collecting with the will to political power is obviously a weak analogy, but okay, I'll bite.

Let's say the husband owns the most sought-after stamp collection in the world. She knows that as long as she stays with him, that stamp could one day be hers. Now let's say he fools around on her with a much younger woman, which becomes public knowledge both at her workplace and in the general community. She decides to stay with him anyway. Would it be unreasonable to speculate that she's staying with him for the stamps?

2. Hennenberger suggests (interestingly) that Bill's ill-tempered outbursts may be related to his heart condition. But while we're speculating, have you ever noticed how grumpy people get when they're "put on a diet"? It must be a tough call: Which is more dangerous for her campaign, a happy, horny Bill, or a frustrated, abtemious Bill?

Philatelist does sound a bit dirty. Perhaps if Hillary had been an accomplished Philatelist, Bill would have never needed Monica to lick his stamp.

As Dr. Evil might say:

"Twenty twenty twenty-four hours to go, I wanna be philated ...
Philatio ergo cum?"

(Awkward silence)

"No? Nothing?"

"What have you done for me philately?"

I've been using this pun, and apparently it is better received when spelled correctly:
"fellately" is better I think
