I am an avid reader of slate but I just couldn't let this one go. Your fixing it column proclaims that so called experts are proposing solutions. How is a senior editor at slate and her husband who heads an organization that, by its own admission, has the mission to bring up new environmental "activist" leaders considered experts. The environmentalist slant of this article forces the educated reader to not take it seriously. It makes common sense to look for new techniques and keep the water and air clean, but you will never get individuals like myself on board unless you take into consideration the oil and manufacturing workers that will lose there employment if too harsh an environmental policy takes effect.
