life and death
by Howard

One more action needs to occur beyond a Will. Please do not forget to establish durable powers of attorney or Living Wills!

Alas, it is more likely that you /or your husband become seriously disabled for a period of time. If both of you are, then who would take care of your child while you are incapacitated or recovering and unable to make major decisions?

I have seen this too many times; a family is traveling together and an accident occurs. The child or children surviving have no one to legally oversee their care. Worse yet, the family goes into a dispute as to who should. Please prepare for these eventualities. We always think the worse; death, but it is life that can bring on many trials.
