So now can we get our industries back?

The reason American businesses shifted their manufacturing overseas was to take advantage of cheap labor. Well, now that the value of the dollar has fallen into the toilet, perhaps American business will bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States, to make American products for Americans here in America. I'll gladly pay more for a product made here that is of the quality one used to associate with American-made products! There will be jobs for Americans, which will be good. And perhaps we can start restoring the way of life we used to know, where anyone willing to work could get ahead.

I totally agree.... I would gladly pay a few more $ for quality, American made products than cheap imported crap.

This story tells it all:

Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock (Made In Japan) for 6 am. While his coffee pot (Made In China) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (Made In Hong Kong). He put on a dress shirt (Made In Sri Lanka), designer jeans (Made In Singapore) and tennis shoes (Made In Korea). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (Made In India) he sat down with his calculator (Made In Mexico) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (Made In Taiwan) to the radio (Made In India) he got in his car (Made In Germany) and countinued his search for a good paying American Job. At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day, Joe decided to relax for awhile. He put on his sandals (Made In Brazil) poured himself a glass of wine (Made in France) and turned on his TV (Made In Indonesia), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in AMERICA.
