Lamb...sophisticated?
by justannesopinion
Lamb chops were a staple of middle class households during the fifties. It's hard to see that a liking for the meat bespeaks any great sophistication if it's what you grew up on.

Gotta defend the Boca burger. It may not scale the culinary heights, but as far as I know it's a healthy way to get protein and dressing it up with condiments makes a big difference.

Anyhow, unless you take a hard stance that you wouldn't vote for a meat eater, or her diet is grossly unwholesome or she bites the heads of live bats as and amuse-bouche, why does anyone care about her dietary preferences?

If lamb is what you grew up with..that's the key..but all over this country, most especially in the mid-West, lamb is generally disliked...I still ask expected dinner guests if they like it before I plan a menu..you'd be surprised how often I am told no.

Boca burgers are now staples in NYC supermarkets in freezer cases...Have a ball!

Lamb...more fattening than beef or turkey?
by Cooltruth

The only thing I can think of why anybody might be remotely interested in what anybody else eats is that they're wanting to avoid food items that are causing people to get fatter. The question becomes: Is lamb more fattening than beef, turkey or chicken? How about mutton? Seems you could get more meat from a grown sheep than a lamb. Boca burgers actually taste pretty good. Even people who aren't vegetarian could include these in the meal 'rotation' for some variation.
