He left out the most important diplomatic issue: The Palistinian-Israeli issue which is at the heart of most of the unrest in the Middle East.

The U.S needs to cut Israel free to deal as best it can with its own problems. Israel would have a very difficult time surviving without the help it gets from the U.S. at the United Nations to the billions it receives in aid annually. Giving the Palistinians the right of return or just compensation; demanding that the Israilis give up their nuclear weapons; commit NATO to defend Israel if attacked all will go a long way toward eventually gaining peace in the Middle East.

Of course, none of this is possible with Israel lobby groups under the aspices of AIPAC continuing to control our policy with campaign help to our elected officials.
