Intelligent Black Man vs. Effette

I think the Obama sissy thing has more to do with people being unaccostomed to public black intellectuals than about Obama's so-called manliness.

The images of Black people that are provided through the media don't usually include black people that are very intelligent. We usually get a stereotypical thug or a stereotypical gay person or some slight variation on either. Rarely though do you get a really smart Black man who is not a tough guy, but just a normal person with higher than average intelligence.

So, when people are confronted with a reality like Obama, they have a hard time wrapping their heads around it and at some point try to shoe horn him into one of the archetypes that is more familiar. In Obama's case, that would be sissy or stereotypical gay person.

My experience is not all encompassing, but this has happened to me too many times to recount. If I act aggressively people think I'm a thug. If I'm quiet or contemplative, they think I'm gay.

If I were running for some office, I'd care, but fortunately my profession (law) doesn't really discriminate against either stereotype very harshly. If I come off as thuggish or gay I can still write, do research, negotiate, etc.

Tough for Obama, though.

Not tough at all. This sissy nonsense is just the Clinton spin doctors just trying to recover from Hillary's sniper gate incident. With Senator Obama, what you see, is what you get. He does not come off as fake. He is running on his ability to unite the country, and move away from the partisan bickering of the last 18 years. It is exactly why he is so popular. It is why he is closing the gap in PA, and putting this one away in the win column.

Hillary only knows gutter politics, and trys to pass that off as toughness. In reality, she is just a back-stabbing coward.

As far as Senator Obama's ability to bowl, who cares. I always saw bowling as a good excuse to drink beer and eat nachos. Does anyone really need an excuse to drink beer and eat nachos? Of course not.

No doubt.

And true, it's no more tough for Obama than the stereotypes Hillary has to deal with because of her gender (and race) or McCain for his age.

I think another aspect of this is particular to politics too. Remember that horrible attempt by John Kerry to go "huntin" as some sort of attempt to look like "one of the guys".

He looked about as comfortable as most guys in a Victoria's Secret store. It didn't play well, and made him look stupid and fake.

This on the other hand, which is just randomly captured video, makes him look awesome.

how does that go, live in a glass don't throw stuff yada yada etc...

anytime you don't understand somebody, label them!

anytime you can't control somebody, destroy them!

and if you can't say something nice, dog them out!

Quick Note!! speaking of sissy, you don't have to believe this, but research this your self.

pre-monica, hill was lady-like, post-monica she became more butch like,

(Huma A.) check out that hair cut, hello!!!!! LMAO

Why are you here?

I think the only reason that you may not have heard it much may be the people you hang out with.

George Washington Carver was brilliant, and Martin Luther King was too. Half of the talking heads that interpret our political and financial news for us are black.
