HRC is the liar!
by AnnAZ62

My preacher says things I don't agree with, my family says things I don't agree with, my friends say things I don't agree with, my co-workers say things I don't agree with.

Their words are not mine and they don't always match my words or thoughts.

So, whatever Reverand Wright said, so what, it has no bearing on my opinion of Obama only my opinion of Reverand Wright.

But HRC, just lied, blatantly, obviously, grossly knowingly lied. She didn't mispeak, she LIED.

So how is she any different than George, or Dick or Condi or Donald? She's not. She's just another liar. Not interested in a liar in office.

To compound her baggage, her personality and her demeanor has demonstrated that she'd be if not as bad, worse that the Bush II Administration when it comes to alienating foreign leaders. This woman has absolutely no ability to see beyond herself. She's a beligerant autocratic know-it all, that has nothing to do with intelligence, it just means she's a control freak that would beat the crap out of anyone who got in her way or disagreed with her even if she were dead wrong.

"[Hillary Clinton's] a beligerant autocratic know-it all, that has nothing to do with intelligence, it just means she's a control freak that would beat the crap out of anyone who got in her way or disagreed with her even if she were dead wrong."

This is exactly why, when Hillary Clinton was in the White House, her health care reform package crashed and burned. She couldn't even sell her proposal to her own party.

Obama 08!

It's called yellow journalism and it used to be something "hicks" watched or read. This NYT article explains the unfair media coverage

HRC - Her Royal Clintoness

Life is unfair.

Obama 08!

Herein lies the beauty of her lie

In their single-minded focus on the landing in Tuzla, reporters and commentators have omitted any discussion of what Mrs. Clinton accomplished on her trip.

The problem is not that reporters and commentators have omitted discussion of Clinton's accomplishments on her trip, Clinton, herself, glossed over them to instead tell a whopper of a fish story. Clinton was perfectly in her right to discuss her accomplishments, but instead she said:

I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.

Really, how difficult would it have been for Clinton to have discussed her accomplishments on the trip. Instead, she repeated an obvious falsehood numerous times, even after being called out on it.

Now, I ask you, is it really the presses job to say, "hey, Clinton may have completely lied about running with her head down, but she did meet with religious leaders and community activists."

As for Yellow Journalism, you should really look up the term. It refers to sensationalism and outright lying by two publishers in particular, William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pultizer. The targets of this yellow journalism were hardly hicks, rather the decision makers at the time. For instance, fabricating anti-Spanish stories to lure the U.S. into war with Spain is a fine example thereof.

I agree the press is being largely unfair to Clinton. Some of my fellow Obama supporters are, too. It's sad how hysteria has gripped almost everyone in this race, lately.

That's true, but I really don't think that's the kind of response that Obama would recommend. He's all for positive campaigning, remember? :)

Yep, if a black president wants to have a black racist nazi jew-hater as a pal and "advisor" dammit that's his right. Louis Farrahkan for VP on the ticket. Any honkey complains it's because they're are racist.
A new kind of politics.

To be fair to Clinton, it was a tense situation in Bosnia and the event did happen 12 years ago. I have a hard time remembering things in detail from last month, much less that long ago. It's easy to mix things up, plus her impressions of the situation going in - that it was a warzone and all the precautions they were taking - could have coloured her experience and led to mistakes. She's human. Give her a break.

Trying to score points on every little slip is not how politics should operate. Many a great candidate (Howard Dean, for example) has been destroyed for the most trivial of things. Don't fall into that trap, because what goes around comes around, and nobody is perfect.

Honestly people - how would anyone forget the horror of being shot at? I don't care if it's 50 years later. C'mon grow up. She lied on purpose and got caught. It was a calculated risk and she knew it...and lost.

Rather have a chronic liar, than a black militant pretending to be a uniter.I don't trust Obama,or most black people to run this country, because deep down, they all hate whitey.

You are not only a bigot, you are an idiot. This makes you a neo-con Republican and a liar.

You call Obama a racist in one post, and then you follow it up here by saying you don't trust black people because you think they all hate white people?

I think the term for that is projection.

The New York Slimes saying anything about biased media coverage is like calling the kettle black. Instead of just stating facts, there's always a "spin" on the subject. I got news for you if you think she's a saint I've got a bridge for sale.
I am willing
by spruce

I am willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt when it comes to memory. It is easy to conflate things, to forget things, etc. However, Clinton added details that never happened to her anywhere. Additionally, it contradicts her own account in her own book.

Overall, I do not think this is a make or break issue. What frustrates me about it is the Clinton supporters that won't own up to the simple fact that she, if nothing else, greatly embellished the story.
