Clinton and Libby

Fair or not the GOP, particularly the radio haters will use every syllable Hillary or her husband speaks to bring back talk radios glory days when what ever hateful bile was spewed 50% of the American population swallowed it without question. A Hillary candidacy would be hate radios wildest wet dream. If she managed to win over about 1/3 of the people who hate her she stands a chance to win the general election. Should Hillary somehow become president it would be a public hatefest from the right like never before witnessed in America.

For the good of America and in the best interests of its people I hope Hillary would reconsider her run. There is no shame in being "just" a Senator and she could do a lot of work there for years to come.

Even today nearly one third of the American population could care less what transgressions this current administration makes so long as there is a Republican in office. The only defense these people have for Cheny/Bush is to bring up something from the Clinton administration. They know there is no justification for anything Cheny/Bush has done during the last 61/2 years and they do not care. In fact if Bush defecated on their own grandmother in front of their own children, and then cleaned his rear with the original copy of the constitution they would whine loudly about Bill Clintons eating habits yet would say nothing to Bush for soiling their own grandmother.

This pardon, excuse me, sentence reduction, the pardon will come next year, is a slap in the face to every decent law abiding citizen on this planet. Only those who have sold their soul to the Republican Party and could care less about anyone or anything else in the world see nothing wrong with this state of affairs

Those in the 30% or so who have sold their souls, lock, stock, and barrel, to the GOP, are a lost cause. If nothing about the last six and a half years has wised them up, nothing will. And they'll find some way to hate the Democratic nominee with a visceral passion, whether it's Hillary Clinton, Obama, or anyone else. The GOP knows how to manufacture those passions, and it doesn't much matter if it is working with an existing template, or coming up with a new one. Just look at what they did to Kerry. Kerry was a highly-decorated war hero with a reputation for bipartisanship and no serious ties to the Clinton administration, and yet it took them no time at all to brand him some sort of demon. They'll do the same for anyone. So let's stop worrying about what the 30% dead-enders of the GOP are going to think about Hillary Clinton. Let's just ask whether she'll campaign well for centrists, whether she'll turn out the base, and whether she'll be a good president if she wins.

Speaking of hateful bile, you took one whole sentence to prove yourself a hypocritical moron. There was no reason to read further. Could you make stomping your argument into the dirt any easier? Thanks for the slam dunk...t'was fun!

Hillary Should Give It Up??

Excuse me, but your analysis would be ridiculous if it were not so defeatist! You have bought into the idea that there is some substance behind the right wing big lies. Note how the Democratic selection of a war hero named John Kerry was greeted with swift boating. No matter whom the Democrats select, the right wing dittoheads will converge upon a hate message. It need not--and in all probability will not--be based on any substance. It is just the tactic that Herr Rove has used with some success for many years now. It is only successful because the MSM buys into it, and the public follows them, thinking that there must be some pony in the pile of manure.

The Vietnam Vetrans who spoke out about Senator Kerry have every right to freedom of speech. How did a guy who served for four months get anointed a war hero ?
Hating Hillary
by Blue State Blues

I dont know where you are getting this hatred of Mrs. Clinton by The Right.

Its the Hardd Left who have thier panties in a wad over Mrs. Clinton and her percieved lack of stridency on The Iraq War.

The Right Wing Press offers no hatred of Hillary. She has been careful and traditional Senator. Its Assholes like Dick Durbin who compare our troops to nazis. Couldn't imagine Mrs, Clinton saying anything stupid like that. Honestly Hillary has not provided republicans with any red meat. She comes off as reasonable and a leader.

So , Sakura,

You are denying that hate radio, particularly in the ninteys was and still is full of bile and hate?

Now are you whining because the people so terribly villified and lied about have decided to play by your same rules.

My post is 100% accurate and I stand behind it.Dont hit someone in the head with a brick and then whine because they throw it back at you.

Arkady,

I understand how you feel regarding how the lost 30% are. However there is a large percentage of blue collar moderates who simply do not like the woman. These folks tell me to my face they will not vote for her, its not just the office of president but if these people stay home then other candidates up and down the ballot they might otherwise have voted for will be losing out on needed votes as well. Plus the next election will most likely be very close and the 20% or so who used to listen to hate radio need to be won over.

Hillary is a fine Senator and I would have paid a lot of money just to watch the faces of the haters as she walked down to her seat on her first day. I know its not fair but the Democrats and America as a whole need a candidate who would be less divisive. Not sure if it is any of the front runners and not sure if this entire accelerated electioneering is good for the country either, but my personal opinion is that I am sure we would all be better off if Hillary remained in the Senate and fought for working men and women from there because I honestly think she cannot win the general election and thats what the entire candidate selection is all about.

Blue State Blues:

I dont know where you are getting this hatred of Mrs. Clinton by The Right.

Blue State Blues,

Wow, welcome to Earth. Hope you like it here, can't say as that I have ever communicated with someone who has never been here before. There are scores of radio shows that have a large and solid fan base. Millions of these listeners are psychologically addicted to their radio show and have been spoon fed pure hate of Mrs. Clinton for years. Not being from earth I can understand why you would not know this.

Right leaning magazines spent years using vile character asassinations and distortions of her image and perusing right wing websites will also provide ample evidence of the right wing hatred of this woman. Even casual reading of the forums of this site, considered liberal by most of the right will show the hard right hate of the women being discussed.

But for the moment lets all leave that behind as I have a few questions that need to be asked. How did you find out about our planet? Do you like it here? Do you plan on visiting us again on your next trip? And would you mind if a few of our earthlings looked into the mechanical workings of your spaceship?

Shoul'nt that be "HIER"ROVE?

Sadly, I have noted that none but the top three from either side get any press coverage. My own favorite is Joe Biden and it is rare that his face is in the news.

In looking at the RNC web site I find it interesting that there is so much false info there. There is a very partisan interpretation of the pardon issue, with a lot of info about the corruption that Clinton's pardons represent but ignores the 900 pardons by Nixon and 400 by Reagan or the 100 or so by Bush's dad or even the 100 by "W". There is also a bit about Kerry revealing the name of a covert CIA agent, but I found the guys biography in "Who's Who" it even says he worked for the CIA.....

As long as the remaining 30% of the hardcore right ignores the lies and buys into election by sound bite and bumper sticker, we will get no better than we have gotten.

middleview,

Agreed, somehow at least until after the primaries, or at least until they start, there has to be a bettter way to equal the playing field for all candidates. The Press needs to quit being the creator of the news and simply report what EVERY candidates positions are and ask their questions accordingly. And thinking people need to embarrass the dittohead quote machines by pointing out their absurdities even when it creates an uncomfortable atmosphere where they are.

With 300 million people in this country there have to be better ideas for different paths for our future. Currently we have the choice between the right lane or the left lane of the same highway headed for the same canyon and no one has yet pointed out there is no bridge.

Re: Hating Hillary

Durban did not say that our troops were Nazis. He did point out that we were mistreating prisoners and that such mistreatment was common for prisoners of the Nazis, Soviets and the soldiers of Pol Pot.

What he said was true. German soldiers captured French (or citizens of other occupied countries) and tortured them to get information on other "terrorist" cells. What part of his comments do you disagree with?

Ummm--two tours of duty, so the four months is not correct, three Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, and I believe a Silver Star?? That sounds like a hero in my book.
