Barack Obama has a lot to recommend him. He is an eloquent speaker. He is smart and able to think on his feet. He is very charismatic and inspirational and though he is identified as a black man he has appeal to people of all "races."

I put "races" in quotations because, scientifically speaking, race does not really exist. Of course culturally speaking race does exist and the people of this country still pre-judge people by the color of their skin.

I would love to say that I am an exception to this but I when I meet someone for the first time certain assumptions pop into my head based on what they look like. I wish that this was not the case and I do my best to fight this but there's no denying that it is there. I like to think that my children are different. Certainly I have raised them to view people without any racial pre-conceptions.

I think this is one more reason Obama appeals to people. He is a "black" man but he is also a "white" man. To put it more plainly he is really niether black nor white but he seems to have done something that we, as a nation, need to do; he has moved beyond race.

Obama is beyond comprehension!

He sits in a pew every Sunday for twenty years and happily smiles and nods to the occasional hate-based rant of his 'mentor' and then during the excuse portion of his ersatz mea culpa last week throws his White granny [but not his no doubt equally racist Black granny] under the racist train in order to make a political point and divert people from a genuine examination of his behavior patterns. As I said that's SLICK.

Let's really return to a blast from the past and put an updated Bill Clinton into office. Ladies and gentlemen I give you Slick Bamie. Yaaaaaaaaaaay! Whoooooowhooooooooo! speech! speech!

On what do you base your opinion of Rev.Wright? Have you been in his church? Have you listened to an entire sermon he has delivered? Please do not just take the word of the media who have taken a thirty second snippet and turned it into an entire lifetime of "hate and intolerance." If you take ten minutes and listen longer you will see that the Rev. Wright is a thoughtful man, well grounded in history and biblical tradition. You may not identify with his black bias, but you might find he is not the devil others have told you he is.

Between the national press bias and the back stage machinations of Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi our Lady Hillary is effectively toast. It is the WILL OF THE PRESS that Slick Bami becomes the next president and you don't mess with the press in this nation.

It's Wrights ridiculous claim that these same white men created AIDS to kill off blacks that is the problem. If you can't see that you are blind to your own bigotry. As for "white preachers" saying stupid things and "getting a pass", they do get called on the carpet it, I remember Pat Robertson taking an ass reaming after his ignorant statements concerning 9/11. There is no mistake, if Obama where all-white and sat in church for twenty years with a guy who spewed such venom, even if it was for just one sermon his political career would over, period. But, let him be non-white and the excuses and hypocrisy flow like one of Rev Wrights hate sermons.

Did you check the link? Did you see what Pat Buchanan said? He said that black people should thank us white folks for bringing them here! He has also said that this country has done so many things to "help" black people such as providing welfare and section eight housing and yet these ungrateful blacks STILL haven't said thank you.

Do I believe white people created AIDS to kill blacks? Of course not, but can I understand how a black man who has lived with prejudice and bigotry for most of his life MIGHT believe this? Yes.

There are all kinds of crazy rumors floating around on the internet. There are still people who are CERTAIN that the world trade center was blown up from the inside and that Bush is responsible. Others say that "the JEWS" did it, even though there were lots of Jewish people killed in these attacks.

These rumors are ridiculous and yet some people are still convinced. Is Wright prejudiced against whites? Prejudice means pre-judging people and so I think the answer must be yes. Why is Wright prejudiced though? It is because he has seen racism and intolerance first hand. If some white people are racists does this mean that all whites are? Of course not but if nearly every experience you have with whites is negative then I can see where you might draw that conclusion.

As Obama articulated there are white people who feel that blacks are stealing their jobs with affirmative action. The truth is that manufacturing jobs have been disappearing for years and sent overseas and that our corporate friendly government actually gives companies tax breaks for sending jobs to other countries. Many American companies have simply been poorly managed and have not reinvested to modernize which also costs jobs.

The Republicans have used race as a tool for years so is it all that surprising that working class whites who have little contact with blacks buy into this divisiveness?

Racism still exists and yes blacks and whites are guilty. It is also true that being white in this country is still an advantage. This is not a racist statement, merely a statement of fact.
