Thank Goodness for Pres. Bush
by bluedanube555
Thank goodness for the common sense and courage of President Bush in granting clemency and hopefully a full pardon to Scooter Libby. He didn't deserve the type of sentence nor treatment he got from the prosecutor and his office. I am glad that we have a president that can stand up to the abuses of the DOJ. They violate laws often and fail to police themselves and we all pay the price for that. Hooray for Mr. Bush and his decision. :)

Are you thanking Bush for slapping the faces of the members of the jury who found Libby guilty beyond all reasons of doubt? So much for the American judicial system. Bush pardoned Libby for one reason, to save his own ass.

The American judicial system was born July 4, 1776, and died July 2, 2007. R. I. P.

It isn't really dead yet, but you are otherwise correct. If Congress doesn't get off their butts and remove this administration, we may indeed see the death of not only our judiciary, but our republic.

Bush has shown us time and time again that he is a liar and an asshole. He has not shown courage but arrogance. Laws apply to everyone but him and his cronies. He has abused his power again. It is time for him to go.

"I am glad that we have a president that can stand up to the abuses of the DOJ."

Anyone with even the tiniest sense of irony could not have written that sentence. Thanks for proving a long held suspicion of mine.

Just one question: Who runs the Department of Justice?

Wow, one line that so perfectly demonstrates how spectacularly out of it you have to be to still support Bush. You are either being sincere or are perhaps the greatest ironist of our times.

...either way, f'ing HILARIOUS.
Thank Goodness for King George

He not only stands up to the DOJ (which is run by one of his appointees), he also stands up to Congress by attaching signing statements to each bill that Congress passes and states why that bill doesn't apply to him.

I wonder if we will have an election in 2008 or will King George tell us why he and Prince Cheney have decided elections aren't needed?

I would llike to see Bush pardon the two border agents in jail for TEN years for shooting a drug dealer in the butt.

Maybe Carla Faye Tucker could have used some of Bush's sympathy before he executed her in Texas , while he was Governor.

If Bushs sympathy extended to others OUTSIDE of his political circle we might be able to swallow this commuting of Scooter's sentence. By commuting the sentence, Bush has taken ALL possibility of Scooter EVER testifying on this case of outing a CIA agent. CONVENIENT? heck yes, for Cheney and Rove.

When I last looked, the DoJ was a part of the Executive branch, and its head began his career in the Bush family garden, or so I think.

How's your waltz step? Make it your day job, please.

I believe the appropriate protocol would be to address the latter as "Prince Dick". Sorry. Perhaps it should be Richard. Anyway, George is sufficient bloodline fodder for republican fires on this (the other) side of the Atlantic.

Have you ever watched the movie Escape from LA?

I'm afraid Bush is going to let a disaster happen so he can try and declare himself "dick tater" for life.

Common Sense?

Courage?

George W. Bush?

Are you kidding us?

Bush isn't standing up to the abuses of the DOJ. He's enabling them.
