now see it through a childs eyes
by cindyrat

Would a child notice all of the imperfections that you mentioned in your article? Do they care if the the world exhibits don't exactly provide the "theme" that a well travelled, child-less man would expect to see?" Would a young child have more fun trailing around a carnival in Mexico or visiting Paris? Maybe so but my bet is on Disney!

And those margaritas are there for a reason, they are there for tired parents who are trying to do something fun, exciting and special for their kids... not to mention burning their much needed vacation time on a family oriented trip.

Disney is somewhere that it can be expected and also accepted if an over-stimulated, over-tired child looses it. And please don't be so stereotypical of families, I once looked upon them as you did in your article...before I had some of my own. And now like the other families out there, now I really get it!

I know exactly what you are saying. When my husband and I went to Disney for a day during our honeymoon, I could not understand what the big deal was. When we went back with children, it was a dofferent world, we had a blast and continue to do so. I have been to many parks, but none compare to the magic of disney. Their cast members and everyone are so great. We haven't had that at any of the other parks such as Universal, Busch Gardens, Cedar Point, Sea World, six flags. There is definitley a difference!!

Disney is not for everyone ... but I agree with you 100% ... see it through a child's eyes.

I was a very fortunate individual growing up ... I was able to go to Disney world atleast once a year , sometimes twice. And now, I am 34, with 3 children of my own. I still have just as much excitement at Disney as I did when I was a child. There is just something magical about the whole Disney experience. It's such a wonderful feeling to see my kids faces illuminate when they walk though the gates at the Magic Kingdom. The parades, the characters, the rides ( I still enjoy each and every one ... the lines can be a bit much sometimes .. but that's part of the experience ... and if you can't deal with them ... go find a margarita), and most important .. it's the time that I can spend with my family. That's what Disney is all about.

Kids are going to be tired, over-stimulated, and sometimes may cry a time or two. Deal with it, they are kids. Their little legs are tired and their feet are sore after a long day of walking in the warm Florida sun.

But keep in mind, Disney trips do require planning ... and they also require PATIENCE. Disney is a place for children (and big kids too). If you can't go there with that in mind, stay home. You'll have a better time renting a movie and popping some popcorn.

To have this man try to capture a Disney experience in 5 days ... sorry buddy, it can't happen. He missed some of the best parts ... and from his critical comments .. I truly believe he really didn't want to be there to begin with.

Still to this day, there isn't a place that I'd rather be than Disney. Regardless of other's opinions, it will always be a magical place im my heart.
