Since when is crying a bad thing?

Sure, crying children can be annoying, and difficult to console. And a child's despair that results from the 'death' of a 'friend' (in this case, the loss of a stuffed animal) may be even more difficult for parents to deal with, but so what? When I was a child, I lost cherished stuffed animals and cryed buckets, and yet I grew up and managed to remain trauma-free from the experience of losing a fake furry friend. Kids cry, they experience loss and hurt...but coddling them too much will not help. It's just a stuffed animal. Let them mourn, then buy them a new one...if they even want a new one.
