Commenting on someone's breasts?
by Tom_Tildrum

Who DOES that? Who feels entitled to do that?

OK, stupid me. I know there are guys out there who do it, and that women have to put up with it all the time. These guys are pigs.

I don't see any difference between saying "nice boob job" to LW4 and saying "nice rack" to any woman. It's rude.

And no, she's not inviting comments by having the surgery. Think where that road ("she's asking for it") leads; it's not pretty.

It depends on what she's wearing. When I see a woman in public wearing barely more clothes than a stripper, I am severly tempted to make comments like "Nice thighs" or the like. Not because they are that attractive, but because it's slightly more polite than saying "put on some damn clothes!"

I sympathize. I often find myself itching to shake some slovenly young man and yell at him, "shave off that damn stupid soul patch!" But I think Miss Manners would curtly advise us that she never allows the annoyances inflicted upon her by others to tempt her into being rude herself.

i'm guessing "tom" means you're from mars. welcome to our world - we're from venus. who comments on our breasts? residents of mars, of course. and after 2 (or more) drinks, the comments can get pretty direct and insistent. welcome to our world. it's no use trying to turn the tables, and asking them "how would you feel if i pointed to your crotch and said nice unit'?" they'd probably love that.

Tons of men feel entitled to do that. Every day. Everywhere you can imagine and some you can't. Construction sites and professional offices. Sitting at a sidewalk cafe. In the lobby of a church during coffee hour.

And believe me, it doesn't make the woman feel complimented.

"I don't see any difference between saying "nice boob job" to LW4 and saying "nice rack" to any woman. It's rude. "

Not the same thing. It's more like "Nice facelift" or "Great botox job". Maybe that's rude too, but at least it's analogous. It's very different to comment on a change -- clearly an intentional change -- than on something that just is the way it has been.
