The one good thing about the Olympics...

...is that it will be all but impossible for Beijing to control information coming out of the country while it is overrun with foreign journalists and tourists. This is not 1936. Considering the activist role that journalists often play these days, I should think this might be an opportune time for the world to take a peek at the Communist Party's dirty laundry.

It will go beyond doofus sports reportage, I reckon. That is, if journalists (or more importantly, their corporate overlords) have the guts to go beyond the Games.

Of course; just look at all those foreign journalists roaming freely around Tibet right now, giving us the full scoop.

IMO, people have much more frequently underestimated China's ability to control the flow of information within its borders than have overestimated it.

You obviously do not know what you are talking about- but then that is all part of this kind of thing. Uh, do you have some doubt about what goes on in China? You will not learn more of China's nature from the reporting during the Olympics.
