Racism Lives in the Slate!!!
by Independant1

The bottom line is that Socio economic status, education and race are the biggest correlatives to statistical probalities.

Out of wedlock preganancies are higher for those with less education and means to support a family and thus correlate to different outcomes for children born into a traditional 2 parent home.

This isn't a statement about marriage. This is a measure of wealth and education. A wealthy single Mom with a good education and a solid family support system would likely does well raising a child. A poor, uneducated mom without the necessary financial background often has problems.

This isn't a National Catastrophe because of Marriage. This is a national catastrophe because of the incredible imbalance of wealth in America!

oh here we go....

let me guess... you're being "held down by the man" and that is your excuse for not staying in school, getting "up out da hood" and ultimately being a productive member of society?

nice. too bad i'm not feeling sorry for you. if you have access to public education then you have as much of a chance as anyone else to earn good money and change your life.

Dear Post and Run Klan member,

This White, Married, College educated, Father of Two wants to thank you for proving my point !!!

Your assumption that I was a bitter single minority Mom who "Blames the Man" for holding me back and not persuing an education is as ignorant and racist as this article.

It's the whole debate over Katrina all over again. How do you think so many Black people in this country became poor in the first place? because of wealthy white people who forced them to work without pay and kept them from access to an equal education. It's a race issue in that Blacks in this country were singled out to be poor/at a disadvantage from the get go. They were never on a level playing field. still aren't and yet non- Blacks cry out why don't they do something about the fact that they are poor and undereducated? why don't they with no resources magically dig themselves out of that hole we pplaced them in?

believe me, friend... you meet, work with, are friends with dozens of people who share my thoughts every single day.... you just dont know that about them.

you'd be exhausted from kicking asses at the end of the day and still be complaining about your situation.

you don't hear them because they know their opinion is unpopular. it's unpopular because it's plain wrong and self serving. even if there were more people who thought the way you do it doesn't make it right. Therefore, those people are cowards becaue they don't even believe in their own crap to speak up.
Re: Racism Lives in the Slate!!!

why? because deep down they don't even know why they believe what they do. only that they were taught/influenced to believe that way and in a real conversation/debate it would come out that they have no opinion of their own, that they are just regurgitating things they heard from other people and will as a result look foolish. They don't speak out because they KNOW they'll look like fools. If they actually knew what they were talking about they'd have every confidence to speak out
