How often does this happen
by Stan25

i am paying child support to a woman that intentionally got pregnant with the intention of having a child and having someone else pay, not only the bills, but have a few hundred bucks a month left over. Is it possible that the government's intervention in the private lives of people is part of the problem. I believe that the problem lies not in the government's intervention necessarily, but more in its infinite ability to do the wrong thing. If the whole custody/support was equally fair for men and women, the problem would not be nearly so bad. My meaning there is that, not only would trash looking for the easy life, but women having a less than smooth relationship would be less likely to opt out of the relationship if it wasn't so easy. I would like to know how many women are out there that are doing the same thing that I am living with.

Does your sign-in indicate that you are 25? Why are you not questioning your own decision to have unprotected sex, or sex with such a lame person? Ah, yes, just what people don't want to hear...decide! They don't want to be in control and make decisions, they just want to emote & react when "fate" decides for them!

And how did she intentionally get pregnant without your help? :-P There are seedy men out there and seedy women. It is up to you to protect yourself. Condoms, or better yet, abstinance, would have prevented this situation from ever occurring.

I believe we may be twins separated at birth. :-P

I am a single mom of a five year old boy. When I first found out that I was pregnant with my child I could have married the father. I choose not to because having children is no reason to get married. Things with the father and myself did not work out and had we married it would have ended in divorce. I have been raising my son by my self for the past five and a half years. The father was court ordered to pay child support and sometimes pays when he feels like it. I can not count on that income so I have to work twice as hard as anyone else to support my son. After I had my son I went to college and graduated with not only one degree but two. All the while going to college I was also working full time. In all actuality I had three full time jobs: being a mother, being a college student, and working to receive a pay check to support my son and myself. Not all women are like the one that you had mentioned. I can't count on anyone to pay my bills except for myself. So please don't criticize all single mothers because we are not all alike.

If you do not like the set up and want to take care of the child, get custody.

all i can say is you're paying a high price for not using a condom. you can not rely on anyone else for something that will impact YOUR future

so now the child's future is also in peril by being raised in a single parent home.

it's a lose-lose situation
