Response to 'God is not Great'
by Timmy
I haven't read this book yet, so I leave myself open to a host of comments, but really why even waste your time. Even the Bible says that religous institutions can and will become hypocritical and self grandizing. Jesus continuously spoke to the Pharisees and Sudducees about this very thing. Did Jesus then say do not organize as a church... NO, did Jesus then say do not follow the Biblical Law... No. If your point is to show that Biblical teaching and following is wrong, then you could not be further from the truth. If your point is to say that self righteous organizations can cause great harm, then I am right there with you ... wait 'til you see what all the 'Green Earth' people do over the nex few months/years.

ok before this so called "writer" talk about the best being ever on this earth (prophet muhammad) or the muslems or islam..why don't he learn first about islam and quran..and then he can say the truth..because what he said about us -muslems-or propthet muhammad is not true and is not acceptable..and god (ALLAH) is so great..very very very great actually..and this writer can say whatever he wants..he will see what will happen to him later..believe me..and what he said is so stupid and so not true
He would have to learn old Arabic for a long, long time

before he could actually understand the Qur'an. He would have to immerse himself in the study of the idiom during the time of Mohammed, the culture of where Mohammed was in that period and also do some studying about religion in general. He doesn't really know much other than that he doesn't believe in it. He seems to be under the mistaken impression that religion and logic are incompatible. They aren't. He just doesn't understand religion at all and is unwilling to admit there are things he doesn't know.
