I just wish, for once, we could get the reactions that some of the LWs have to the answers and comments on their letters.

Particularly, the daughter-in-law... her selfish and callous reaction is horrifying to me. I don't remember what presents my grandparents got me as a child; no doubt anything they got me was probably pretty simple and inexpensif but it's the thought that counts. Spending more money doesn't equal more thought or love! I wish I had had more time with them.

Unfortunately, I doubt that Prudie's response or the more vitriolic comments on these boards would convince this wretch of the error of her ways. I feel bad for the grandparents.
