Back in the day the main rivalry in the state was between UNC and NC State, with the preppy and "professional" people going to Chapel Hill, and the engineers, farmers, foresters, and work-class students going to the State College in Raleigh. (Both fight songs to this day denigrate the other team, with "go to hell XXX" cheered during the singing of each.)

So let's see him go to a Red school to bridge the divide! Go Wolfpack!

re: Full Court Press

I just want to point out to Christopher Beam and Jake Melville that Obama's recent scrimmage with the Tar Heels was actually very much in keeping with his efforts to bridge all divides. Prior to this scrimmage, he had done work on both sides of "the court" if you will. His body man is Reggie Love, former varsity basketball and football player for Duke. He picked UNC to win in his NCAA brackets. At his 3 on 3 tournament in Indiana, his teammate was current WNBA star and former Blue Devil, Allison Bales.

If Obama can bring Duke and UNC together, then he can accomplish anything!
