Looks like a bill that would not really affect responsible gun owners but would make it harder for criminals an loonies to get guns.

I am inclined to disagree that this would make it more difficult for criminals to get guns. When Washington DC had the strictest gun laws I could still have purchased fully automatic weapons not far from the Capitol building with little to no difficulty. This law (which the link you provided states has no real backing and is expected to die in committee), like just about all of these knee jerk feel good laws, would just make legal ownership of firearms more difficult. In short, it is yet another law to punish the innocent and law abiding rather than go after the criminal.

Actually,

I support nearly all of the provisions of this bill. Very Important for you to be aware of a new bill HR 45 introduced into the House.
This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of 2009.
We just learned yesterday about this on the Peter Boyles radio program.
Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because it is flying under the radar..
To find out about this - go to any government website and type in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. You will get all the information.

Basically this "little" piece of legislation would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless:

.It is registered
.You are fingerprinted
.You supply a current Driver's License
.You supply your Social Security #
.You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing
.Each update - change or ownership through private or public sale must be reported and costs $25
- Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail.

There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision. Guns must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18.

The Government would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs. in prison.

If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many options to read this..
http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h45/text

It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are becoming aware of this. Pass the word along.
FAILURE TO DO SO AT YOUR PERIL!

Any hunters in your family - pass this along.

Peter Boyles is on this and having guests. Listen to him on KHOW 630 a.m. in the morning.

He suggests the best way to fight this is to tell all your friends about it and "spring into action".
Also he suggests we all join a pro-gun group like the Colorado Rifle Association, hunting associations, gun clubs JPFO (JEWS FOR THE PRESERVATION OF FIREARMS OWNERSHIP) and especially the GOA and NRA..

This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it.
YOU MAY NOT OWN OR EVEN LIKE GUNS, but if you LOVE FREEDOM, YOU better get involved NOW!!!
TOMORROW YOU MAY NOT HAVE AN OPTION.

This is one to act on whether you own a gun or not.
The Second Amendment... . America's original homeland security
Oh please,

Did you get that line about Mr. Obama from Smith or Wesson. Either way his election has been a huge boon for the gun makers. Your paranoia is not serving you well. You are standing there in your fatigues looking for the invading secularists while they clean out your bank account.

I seriously doubt he has introduced any gun legislation. If he had, you would know the exact resolution. The last real legislation go passed after Mr. Reagan was shot. And, it was largely ridiculous. However, I do support registratin, bullet finger printing and transfer of gun ownership only through a licensed dealer.

No, I am not worried about them taking my gun. They have helicopter gunships, tanks and all kinda skunk works shit. If they want your gun, they'll get it.

Re: Hmm,

Yes, a .38 sp can be hopped up quite a bit in modern firearms, but the 9mm surprised me with similar velocities. A .38 sp semi auto, heavy gun like the 1911 knock-offs would be a very fast recovering, accurate repeater, especialiy in a large, strong mit. Sounds like you made the good choice, very practical, like your suggestion with the BMG.

Yes, all ego, but I'd shoot it a hundred times a year.

I have so many hunting rifles. The 14 I want is the shorty in composite stock. Heavy, stocky, it points like a dream, 16 inch barrel chambered for .308 Win. Good for static defense, I figure, as I'm too fat to fire and maneuver.

I've had primers on backorder for three months and they keep backing them up. Took two months to get a canister of unique. Reloading components and dies are sky high and hard to get. Try to pick up a turret for your RCBS progressive.

You are aware that Obummer has just introduced HR14 (I think) which requires all guns to be registered and outlaws weapons with clips. With the vote fraud generated supermajorities in both houses of congress, there will be no stopping him now short of using our firearms as far as I can tell.

I will probably sell all my guns but a couple before they take them. They know all the guns I have, now, anyway.

I think it is a 16 or a 17 round clip. I am a fairly big guy and I do have large hands but the gun handles really well and the recoil is pretty minimal. You ought to give it a try. Several people I work with use the XD but the XDM is really nice.

I can never bring myself to spend all that much on guns, but I needed something for the hurricane kit and the shotguns I were looking at were high price, low quality.

The only problem is that the ammo is to costly for regular target shooting. Not to mention all the hillbillies that are buying up all the ammo because of the gun industries best friend: Mr. Obama.

Oh, and BTW, I used to live in the gay part of Houston, so I am sure they make hotpants in your size.

The barrett is a sucker bet. You will fire it around 8 times a year and never, ever, ever get any actual use out of it. It's too impractical for hunting. It is an overpriced redneck fantasy gun. Go with the M14.

Re: Guns, like Bibles

Well, I always point my Bible in a safe direction and treat it constantly just like it is loaded.

Do you have extremely large hands? I have an older Beretta that carries 13 rounds of .380. I can use it, but it feels too fat in the grip for comfortable confidence in control. The old .45 ACP I cut my teeth on in the Army always returned to battery, relatively realigned with the target, but the skinng grip concentrated the recoil load even if it did help you latterally realign quickly, or so I felt.

Huge clips seem to jam more than the ten rounders or less, in my experience.

Springfield Armory's best offering to a man of my taste would be the GI .45. Hard to improve on perfection. Changing clips after 7 shots, though in this fire-suppression world could be problematic. There is usually a good reason for progress, even if we don't think it is "progress".

My latest purchases were .45 cal flintlock KY repllica. I love to just look at it. Alllll mine.... Always wanted a Davy Crocket Flintlock. Patched ball has my interest although they sell a starter kit with sabots and actual jacketed bullets, too. I need a replica percussion long weapon in .45 now also to compliment a brace of Confederate navy Colts. I got the Bowie Knife and the Hudson's Bay Trader hatchet. And a powder horn.

Now, I was browsing small pistols for a lady when I ran into a Ruger pistol made from the receiver of their rotary clip fed rifle. Now that is interesting. If they made it in .22mag they'd have something. But have you seen the LR velocities these last decade? Did I see 17 something with 33 grains? Mexican brand. Could you imagine a Ruger Pistol spitting 33 gr of soft lead at 1700 fps using the 50 round clip/drum? Now there's a Gay Rights Parader pistol if I ever saw one. Heh heh heh. You think they'd make hot pants for a size 50 waist? I guess I could shave my belly, put on a bra and blend right in with the fellahs until its time to "blow" my cover. heh heh heh.

My brother says get an M16 "platform" and my nephew says get that new composit stock m14 carbine. I hefted one of those... Economy is slow. Imay have to get a rifle like that for a G or so than the Barret 10 shot .50 bmg I have been drooling over for fifteen years. Its either one of them or a Hyundai for 8975 without even a radio. I love stripped down cars.
