That I addressed your arrogance and your narcissism is why I responded to begin with. it is you who then began the serial insults and self aggrandizing.

You are the one who claims to be so brilliant. I have seen one decent top post by you that I can recall that did not rely on insults and flames. That is not reasonable and it is not Pithy.

For future reference anytime I reply to you on Fraywatch or BOTF it is not stalking. I post on both of these boards and if you don't want a reply here don't post here with silliness or flames.. Your silly accusations against me still stand out there for the world to see. They indeed make you look silly so regardless of your protestations I am happy the world gets to see you for what you are.

so of personal attacks launched against me in these two top post threads, only NOW are you finally waking up to reality and starting to write as if you had a functioning intellect?

Well, better late than never, I guess. Every top post I write is replete with plenty for a THOUGHTFUL poster to reply to. It has ALWAYS been YOUR choice and BFD's choice to reply ONLY to the segments that you decide to take as offensive in nature. Perhaps you have finally realized that some few posters are capable of looking past the surface and realizing that I am one of the few opposition posters that delivers pithy and intriguing political and ideological perspectives on the issues of the day. Perhaps, on the other hand, you HAVE finally re-read these two top posts threads and begun to realize that to any disinterested observer you and BFD HAVE been attacking me for no good reasons, considering how civilized and reasoned I have been in the majority of my replies for post after post after post.

For future reference NickD there is ALWAYS something interesting that a reasonable poster can select within my BOTF top posts to reply to IF he or she is reasonably mature and in the mood for personal honesty. Other posters of a Liberal vent have no problem doing so. So, in the future, do yourself and your fellow posters a favor and make that effort or simply don't open my top posts. Either methodology works for me.

The top post is one click away for everyone to read. If you had a clue you would realize that I uprate conservative posters when I think they have made a good top post. The editor, I am sure, could verify this by checking. You could too if you bothered to really pay attention to the boards rather than jump to your silly conclusions. You did finally write a reasonable top post a day or so ago on BOTF and I gave a reasonable reply to it. So when you choose to be reasonable and quit flaming people and then crying like a spoiled 9 year old when you get the exact response you were trolling for, you get reasonable replies.

If you can't take the heat of people answering your flame bait, then quit flamebaiting. You have moderated your behaviour somewhat so perhaps its getting through that self centered skull of yours that the other posters on this site do not worship the ground you walk on or the words you write. In fact most of us are simply trying to enjoy lively conversation and post interesting posts here. Join us and please display some of this massive talent you are always raving about. I'd really like to witness some of it at least once before I die of old age.

the fact is that anyone reading this thread can instantly realize that you and BFD have NOT been addressing the contents of the top post nor acting like decent Fray citizens, but have instead taken turns engaging in drive-bys against ME and doing so only because you do not agree with my ideologies or political opinions.

I have dealt with you two with more than a reasonable amount of courtesy and patience and still you two have done absolutely nothing but launch personal attacks against me. Gatewood is not being followed and harassed. He is baiting posters with inflammatory responses and call outs then pretending to be a victim of the very replies he seeks. It is very similar to some older women in the bars who have long outlived their youthful appearance yet continue to insist upon being the darling of the place. They'll do almost anything to keep the center of attention upon themselves.

It is a dishonest method to elevate himself without writing anything of substance, he simply proclaims he has substance and expects everyone to accept that he does. That he may have posted with substance in the distant past precludes the fact that he has yet to write a post of true substance since his return. This poster is AKA Demcon and has flagrantly and arrogantly harassed and insulted others for a long time. It seems funny that the person behind this current Nickname now thinks everyone should simply offer him the same respect and deference afforded to quality posters such as TheBell, when in fact he has used his abilities only to flame and play victim. Life, either on the Net or in the "meat world" (a term I recently learned from my nephew) doesn't work that way.

If I have downrated one or more of your posts it was for what I would have considered a good reason. I seldom rate posts. If a downrate by myself was removed it was done by an Editor or a fray goblin and not me. For someone who proclaims not to be concerned with ratings you are awfully concerned about them

Anyway, as stated; I'm not wedded to either approach as long as we have some sort of filtering feature. If people could ignore or not even see the posters known to be nothing more than drive by ankle-biters [as the other two posters in this thread have become] or mere mindless nits then there should be fewer flame wars.

Yeah I'm Cicero/Hauteur. I crafted the Gatewood nic way early last year and was just getting comfortable in its skin when the Slate/Fray system belched and would not let me use it anymore. Then I spent the entire rest of the year posting with a very old nic [almost as old as Cicero] Demcon, and then I stopped posting altogether about two months ago.

Upon my return, after a bit of password argument with the Slate/Fray system, lo and behold, it acknowledged Gatewood as a viable nic. Unless the system goes fubar on me again, I'll be posting exclusively as Gatewood for the foreseeable future. As I said, I am comfortable with the nic.

If you can't stand the fact that most people here think you are acting like an ass then quit acting like an ass.

Aside form BOTF and Fray-watch where have I replied to your posts? Where?

Oh and locking a rediculous post so you can't erase it later after you realize how foolish it makes you look is not an attack, its just locking a post so the world sees how foolish you have made yourself look.

I recall you from years ago as cicero and Hatuer was it maybe --- if one of the posters you referred to here is correct about your nic list.

I've never blocked anyone, but like you I have managed quite a fan list too, and suffer essentially the same types and forms of harrassment -- if that term apllies. The only diff is I pretty much confine myself to BB, so their is no following me around but there.

As I see it, with the feature I suggested at least the BS responses wouldn't be soiling up your post, and who knows, maybe the idiots would find some cajones and actually address what you TPed in one of their own. How funny could that become? Imo as well, this feature would also take away this fav form of harrassment of the dedicated common rightwingnut troll, who might wilt from boredom if all they are left with is an occasional idiotic TP not worth acknowledging with a response. I haven't posted over on BOTF for years, so I can't speak to the talents of the trolls I'm sure are there now, but those on BB these days are pretty uncreative and witless.

I've learned to love their "-" and generally non-topical efforts at rebutting what I post. The thinking people know what's what, and if I was posting for an audience, they'd be it, not the laughing hyenas that only have strength in their numbers, not themselves.

Very well, now that you have decided to be at least that civilized I will remove my upmark. Of course if you or one of your posting buddies then downrates it again for your usual reasons I will uprate it again to compensate. It's your choice how we play this out.
