Talk about "the offense of poetry" -- this is what happens when people start thinking that poetry is meant to "shock" people. No, poetry is meant to edify people. That doesn't mean poetry always has to be cheerful; but there's a whole gamut of proper human emotions that doesn't involve this kind of utter disrespect for fellow human beings.
