I think there should be a spoiler warning in people's texts. Somewhere. The reader should be able to know where to stop if he don't want to be spoiled. On the otherhand, where can we write about the endings or other plot twists that might be surprises but need to be writin about.

Want to add tho, re American movies 'always turning out smashingly'...nuh-uh...check out last nights Oscar winner for best movie. Ends decisively unsmashingly, unless of course (spoiler coming!) you believe culture has come to an end and the bad guys have won...and there is a monster afoot in the land.
