I now see where you claimed I was lying now.
I said you didn't have to pay to get into Mormon Buildings. I was refering to regular worship buildings where the communion is taken. That is true. No one has to pay in a Mormon communion, and there are no trays passed as tithing is given discreetely, as is Biblically sanctioned.
Furthermore, tithing is a standard and not a poll tax. The protestant church to which I referred required a poll fee, a certain amount. Tithing is based on income, and thusly only those who can afford to pay would half to pay. If you are an invalid or child who earns no income, your tithing amount is $0, and you can go to the temple. (You would still have to follow the other standards which are moral.) Some of them were taken out of the bible and some are modern revelation, but tihing is Biblical and was adhered to by Abraham, who according to the Apostle Paul, lived the gospel of Jesus Christ before the law of Moses was given.
Therefore I told no lie, as I was comparing buildings with similar worship services (Sunday communion) with another church, and was not referring to the Temple. Even with the temple it is not a lie, because tithing does not always require a universal dollar amount, as with retirees, invalids and children. You are awful quick to point the finger. Forgive me if I failed to see every aspect of the broad brush with which you tried to stroke us all. The Church does it on principle. It will not accept money that was won by gambling. It will not accept money from members who have been excommunicated for other reasons (believe me there are some who still try to pay). It seeks to follow a Biblical Guideline, and given that Church Leaders receive nothing from tithing money, I don't see this as something shameful.
