Remember when BO talked about how Reagan changed the trajectory from "excesses of the 1960's and 1970's" in an interview with Reno Gazette? Sure, you can say that he was just trying to get the votes of Reaganites, maneuvering, strategizing like every other politician. That alone does not bother me that much.

The thing that I'm not comfortable with is BO's position (denial) about race. Simply pointing out your own skin color is not addressing race. I'm not comfortable with the idea that we're beyond and finished with dealing with racial inequality. I think the civil rights movement was a beginning, not the end or a completion. Transcending race is against affirmative action, any programs targeting any racial minority, any programs trying to address problems specific to certain minorities.
