"The saddest thing about the Mormon Church is how it breaks up families. The Church comes between husbands and wives, parents and children."
It is always sad when a family disintegrates. But I fail to see how this is not largely the fault of the disgusting misconceptions that are portrayed in regards to Mormonism. I will not deny that breakups between mixed religious marriages and families may find the Mormon member at fault at times. I have also seen plenty of instances where the venom directed against the Mormon spouses or siblings was such that they had no recourse but to escape.
When I doubted Mormonism, my mother in respect to my desire to seek truth on my own, not only encouraged, but accompanied me to a Catholic mass. You will seldom see this happen in the opposite. Most people I know are disowned for leaving the family religion. If that happens to anybody who leaves Mormonism, just because you think something else is more correct, my heart goes out to you, and I apologize on behalf of LDSaints everywhere.
If you wonder why the families are torn when one of them decides to become LDS, it is due to bigotry, and is explained in King James Bible in St. Matthew 10:34-37. Tithing is also a Biblical charge, and I know plenty of Baptists who adhere to it. I have been paying it ever since I made any income, and I have never missed one bit of the 10 percent. If you think you would, don't pay it, but let me be as I am
