I do not mean to scrutinize or evaluate your personal affairs. They are none of my business. I wish you and your family well.
As I watch my son grow taller than I and his feet outgrow my own and he is only 14 (was it the milk?), I think about how he will do as a high schooler in the face of many conflicting and confusing influences (including the presence of misogyny and misandry). For many boys, they 've not had a constructive male figure in their lives and come out of high school illprepared as indicated by increasing drop out rates among urban youth, minority boys, and working class America.
A good friend of mine who is a public school teacher (exceptional ed.) has observed for years how many teenage boys with disabilities respond more favorably to a male teacher than female teachers largely because they have been taught and parented mostly by females with very few male influence- to no fault to women- and they are starving for positive male attention, ecspecially in their teenage years.
