I'm a lactation consultant and have been for 15 years. I am so sorry that this person talked to you in such a demeaning, insulting manner. I would definitely take the advice of contacting the nurse manager at that hospital and reporting this person as an abusive employee.Thisshould never be tolerated. I know that moms have reasons for doing reduction surgeries that are quite valid. The reason you choose for feeding your baby is your own, and you should not be made to feel in any way inferior for that decision. It's unfortunate that the readers on this topic may now believe that all lactation consultants act in this manner - it is simply not true! I hope that you can do something about what happened so that nobody else is subject to this type of patient care.
