In fact, nobody is more frightening that someone who insists on telling you the truth you're determined to deny. There is no one who will more motivate you to find excuses to discount what they say.

Of course you could both also be mistaken, but you'll never have the opportunity to figure that out if you're unwilling to examine the underlying fear.
