I find it odd that they don't. If they are the ones claiming to follow the original source material (Torah and Talmud) more closely than other faiths, then they would know the higher mitzvot would be to donate blood and save another life. The highest mitzvot is to save a life without expectation or acceptance of reward.

This is not the way we like to 'preach' but I thought I'd comment on your reply.

While we respect the Hebrew Scriptures, we follow the whole Bible. In Leviticus 17:10-12 Jehovah commanded the Israelites to abstain from blood. Being Christian we adhere also to Acts 15:28-29 where Luke reiterated that command. That's the crux of why we abstain.

A side benefit is that there are more and more doctors in this country practicing bloodless medicine which is proven to be safer. Heleva, I would encourage research on the subject. Or ask a JW next time they knock on your door. We're usually happy to answer sincere questions.
