burned.... the dead do matter.... without his once dead mind alive, the manuscript would exist nowhere.... therefore, from his pen his words.... now he is dead... and his son (as his wife before his son) carry an obligation to fulfill instead of an unnecessary requisite to fulfill the "whim" of the living.... he wasn't in "our" family.... my whim does not outweigh his wish (for his unpublished notecards; incomplete or complete)... while alive Nabokov's works could be judged on their merits with a lucid, intelligent and, most importantly, alive Nabokov to diffuse these criticisms as he saw fit.... now he cannot come to his own defense..... so let's omit the whims of the living critcs; the casual critics; the on-line bloggers.... they can find someone living on whom to chew and spit out.... so strike the match and prepare to warm your hands... that is if Dmitri is smart enough to recognize this.... who knows, he could easily live ten years and be running low on residuals.... money probably carries more weight than last wishes... which is why the article probably got written in the first place... to gauge interest in the project...
