ADVANTAGE COLBERT ! Although Stewart's return was neatly excused, Colbert is such a improv master, his show was transcendent while Jon's plainly showed that to get rid of writers all the remaining staff had to become... well... euh... writers ;)

Yesterday's Daily Show with Jon Stewart was a sad reminder of how much writers are needed to elevate any TV show from the humdrum corpo-propaganda big media has sunk to. Poor Jon himself had a moment of clear despair and his interview (about liberal fascism ;) was the worst train wreck I've seen in a long time with a dozen of edits... a practice I had never noticed that badly on that show up to now...

FCC CRONIES RAM IT DOWN PEOPLE'S THROAT ! Bush-appointed FCC Chair Kevin Martin, served as deputy general counsel for the Bush-Cheney campaign in 2000, he was active during the Florida recount. His wife, Cathie Martin, was a spokeswoman for Vice President Dick Cheney in the midst of the scandal around the outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame. She now works on Bush's communications staff. So what else is new ?

Writers can, indeed, be used as tools of alienation... But we have to rise above petty day to day grievance to grasp the big picture. Any content creator should be justly compensated for his copyrighted work. This notion is part of the whole human right concept. I know this is exactly the type of idea our masters has, did & will fight tooth & nail... remember slavery ? But it has also been proven through history that solidarity can defeat greed...
