While I like the imagery I can't see that I could do without transporting, like paper, yarn and items for minimalist existence, even when I cultivate my own foodstuff. I could do without PVC in these circumstances, of course. Where is this lovely location that you depict?

Sorry I missed your comment, cliffrose, but if you're still checking this thread, I'm in northern California, in the urban Bay Area. Our Christmas trees are shipped in from forests far away, but there's lots of greenery flourishing all over.

I agree that it isn't possible to do without any transport at all. But perhaps in every location there's a way to make a beautiful and joyful display without so much destruction?
