Islam actually does OK the spread of religion via the sword, provided that you first allow people to convert willingly-hence Bin Laden will frequently call for the West to convert to Islam prior to his terror attacks-he does this to keep things square with Muslim faith.
But my post was about the LDS massacre of over 100 innocent people AFTER disarming them so they could not fight back. Yes, Brigham Young claimed to his dying day that he didnt know, but he had sent people-HIS people to get the Indians on board with the attack and to direct events-it is no different than Bush sending troops to Iraq-he knew the situation and cannot run from it. We must remember that this wasnt some skirmish with mistakes being made-accidental shootings, etc. The Mormons approached the settlers under a flag of truce, granted safe passage if the settlers disarmed, then massacred them and tried to pin the whole thing on the Indians. It is treachery of the worst kind. And Young didnt "learn incrimentally" of the details as LDS claims, because a lot of time and effort went into covering things up-but it ultimately failed. Only Lee was tried and executed-his troops were not-the good men of the church who one would think would see the error in the whole plan and tell Lee not to do it followed him blindly to do something anyone would know to be wrong-this is a telling thing of the Mormon religion and the authority it gives its leaders-the same kind of authority that Hitler used to massacre Jews-power over life and death as determined by the church-I dont want ANYONE who would be in a position to take such a power to be the president.
