Blessings upon your beautiful head, my dear friend of forever. And thank you for this (indeed, as promised, very) different and quite lovely Thursday OPP. Sorry for the late reply; yesterday was Finish Up Your Shopping Day! I have made a few comments re: the "But is it poetry" "controversy" and agree fully with Angel that of course THE PSALMS ARE POETRY. Good grief, they are widely acknowledged as some of the BEST poetry in the language. My own preference, as with Angel's, is for the language of my favorite, The King James Version -- but it was wonderful to read the translation you furnished here. As ever, you are a blessing in my life, Wabbitomine, and in the communal life of this place. FidelementE, "L."

I love this response. Thank you for it!

I haven't made a general announcement to the Fray, I think, but as you know I am planning to go to Jerusalem during January. It will be the height of the local rainy season, but also the latter half of the winter pilgrimage season. And it will be a working vacation and my first trip outside the U.S. I'll be there from January 1-24. Even if I don't get outside the environs of Jerusalem, there will be much to see, do and learn. Psalms 24 and many others will come to mind frequently there.
