There are some women out there in MovieLand who get to have their fun and live to see another day! Tracy Turnblad from [John Waters'] Hairspray comes to mind.

The specter of the killjoy girlfriend in slacker movies doesn't seem like a big deal to me. "Bitchy Girlfriend", "Mean Boss", "Guy you owe money to" are all staples of the genre.

Even if the girl's down, ala Jan (Sarah Silverman) in Half Baked, she still the one buckling down to make things (like one's fledgling pot business) work. In my book, I would rather be portrayed as the one who can get it done, than the one who needed someone else to make me get my $h!t together.
