Most African Americans in this country have a longer history of being in America than my family. But my family has succeeded comparatively. Why? Values and attitudes (and yes to a great extent the fact that we happen to be white). But nowadays? What excuse is there except their failure as a group to embrace values such as well spoken english, education, and hard work? Go Bill Cosby!

Ditto, I'm also proud of my European-American history.

I think that culture doesn't always evolve as fast we'd like. Most blacks have succeeded, but a disproportionate amount have failed. It hasn't even been a generation since King Jr.'s civil rights movement. Values change with time, who knows what the future holds.
