You make it seem like you're missing out on something spectacular. "Black History Month" and "Kwanzaa" and everything else is relatively trivial and more or less a 'gift' from the dominant culture.

"We were once slaves in this country and came up out of it" is pretty much the entire theme.

"Well if you were slaves and eventually got equal rights, I want to be able to wear a White Pride shirt and tell everybody about Graham Bell."
