Wow, you think Apocalypto is exceedingly well-crafted? I would say that's a surprise but the fact that you didn't find a deeper meaning in No Country means you lack the ability to accurately process stimuli.
After laughing my way through the exploitive and unrelenting action sequences, I watched the "special features" on the dvd to ridicule Mel Gibson's ginormous ego and I found ONE deleted scene. That movie is like 2 1/2 hours long and all the editors deleted was one scene of a deer limping around to indicate that the land was poisoned? Apocalypto was formulaic, simplistic, predictable action crap...yes, he travels across hundreds of miles and literally in the last 2 minutes of his journey his wife is simultaneously drowning and giving birth to a baby?! What? I like to escape too but seriously...hahahahah. You're saying that is better than No Country!!?? Owww, my stomach hurts from mocking you.
